Dear colleagues! On 16-20 April 2010 we will again gather for our Annual EAU Congress, this time in Barcelona. It will be a special occasion, as we will be celebrating our anniversary, the 25th Congress.
It has been 35 years since Padua in 1974 when our first historical congress was a fact. Much has changed - both in the way we practise and the way we perceive urology. A whole generation of top-class specialists has come to the forefront of this field, with young talented doctors emerging every year. With every edition our congress goes from strength to strength and there is so much to look forward to. This is, indeed, a good reason for celebration.
However, today, we want to pause and look back. We want to slow down and reminisce. Capture the many wonderful, exciting, controversial, surprising, difficult, happy, sad, challenging and rewarding moments of our history - the past 24 Annual EAU Congresses.
It goes without saying that the history of the Annual EAU Congresses is a history made by its delegates. It is you, dear colleagues, who shape the contents of our gatherings. You are also the driving force behind the fascinating debates and discussions that take place during the sessions. You help us create these special moments that we all have come to appreciate and enjoy, that we look forward to and revisit each and every year.
The Annual EAU Congress is a major scientific event. But we all know that it is also a great opportunity to meet with colleagues and friends, make new professional and business contacts, and enjoy a few relaxing moments during the EAU social events. All of us have fantastic memories and unique stories to tell, so why not share them?
In Barcelona we will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Annual EAU Congress. Help us to compile a history of congresses past!
We would really appreciate it if you could share your personal Annual EAU Congress memories by sending us any relevant photos and/or memorabilia. If you have any interesting anecdotes, personal reminiscences etc. we would really like to hear from you. Short of time? Please contact us and we will arrange an interview !
Photographic materials can be sent to the EAU Central Office where they will be digitalised – all originals will be returned directly to you.
